What is Anxiety?
Generalised anxiety is a state of heightened awareness. Where any little thing can make you feel like you are about to go over the edge. A sense of having all your nerve endings on high alert….just in case. You feel your muscles are tense, held constantly at the ready to respond.
Not everyone’s anxiety is like this. Yours may be more focused on one specific event or relationship. It may be that you have a presentation to deliver and it is keeping you awake at night. Or you have a big deadline looming and you are anxious you will not be ready in time.
Whatever it is, anxiety is tiring at best and exhausting at worst. At the same time anxiety is not good for you, your health or your ability to have a full satisfying and fulfilling life.
